Purple Daisy
Garden Design
Purple Daisy is a boutique garden design Studio. I focus on townhouse gardens, small spaces and sections of larger gardens in Pretoria and Centurion.

Converting parts of gardens, or smaller gardens into your oasis.
My boutique garden design service can transform your existing or new garden into a beautiful space where you can relax and find joy.
See below what I offer.

Consultations
I offer consultations, offering advice on design and plant choices. A report-back after the consultation will enable you to spend wisely on your garden. Get the best value for your investment! (Consultation fee charged based on location).
New Gardens
I design new gardens from the ground up. Enquire to see if I tackle the size and garden style you would like to create. A consultation will get you started.
Existing Gardens
I delight in transforming existing gardens. A consultation or new design can renew your garden completely. Ask how I can help you and whether your garden falls into my focus area.
Parts Of Gardens
I can transform a specific part of your garden to form a functional, special space. Boutique garden design is all about focusing on specifics.
Townhouse Gardens
Townhouse gardens are ideal for creating a boutique garden. When the limited space is utilized creatively, a small garden offers abundant joy and functionality.
Small Spaces
No matter how limited your garden space is, a boutique garden design will provide you with maximum benefit by choosing the correct plants and accessories, enabling you to utilise a small space effectively.
Plant Shopping
I am willing to accompany clients on shopping excursions for plants, either to wholesalers, retail nurseries of their choice, or on my recommendation. There is a fee for this service.
Project Management
On request, I can project manage the installation of your garden project. Please contact me to discuss your garden project management requirements.
Landscaping
I am happy to recommend a reliable landscaper to install the design I draw for you, and project manage it if required. Both project management and landscaping fees are charged separately.

““The glory of gardening: “hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul.”
~Alfred Austen

About Me
For 28 years, I worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Over and above my daily duties, it spilled over into an ever-increasing involvement in the gardens around Jaffa. I found this so enjoyable that I soon realised that I had found my passion – designing spaces, choosing the correct plants and implementing the design.
Tending and improving my home garden further increased my interest in plants and design, leading me to embark on a series of garden design courses.
After attending a short course at the Irene School of Gardening, I enrolled in a year-long correspondence course in Garden Design & Maintenance with The School of Garden Design. The course was well constructed, incredibly user-friendly and, in conjunction with Lindsay Gray’s feedback, encouragement, vast knowledge and experience, I am now equipped to pursue my passion – running my own design company.
I am a lover of nature and wildlife, therefore I like to incorporate sustainable, organic gardening and use indigenous plant combinations to create seasonal gardens. On the other hand, I am definitely not impartial to including exotic plants in my designs, for instance in tropical, shade, water or small space gardens.
My Certificate

Testimonial
“I thoroughly enjoyed having Esté as a student on our Premier Garden Design & Maintenance Course. She applied herself diligently throughout the course, finishing well ahead of some of her fellow students. Este’s knowledge of plants is sound and ever-expanding and I was delighted with the final plan she presented, including her elevation sketch. Her design and choice of plants indicated a clear understanding of the space, the climatic conditions and she chose a lovely selection of plants that would grow comfortably into the various spaces she designed. I couldn’t fault her selection.
I would highly recommend Este to help anyone tackle their garden!”
